- Control and monitor entry and exit points, ensuring only authorized personnel and visitors enter the school
- Respond to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, including evacuations and lockdowns
- Good communication skills
- Effective interpersonal skills are required
- Verify the identity of visitors, issue visitor passes, and provide directions or information as needed
- Conduct regular inspections to identify safety hazards
- A keen eye for detail and the ability to stay alert and attentive during shifts
- Good physical condition to handle potential security situations
- Collaborative skills to work with other security personnel, school staff, and law enforcement
- Familiarity with security equipment and systems,
- Ability to provide a welcoming and reassuring presence to students and visitors.
- Quick thinking and adaptability to handle unexpected situations
- Understanding of relevant laws and regulations, especially those related to school security.
- Ongoing training and certification in security and safety procedures
- Use security equipment, such as cameras and monitors, to observe and record activities on school grounds
